Job summary

ABS Bureau is seeking an intermediate Surveyor I or II to examine vessels and marine structures under supervision, ensuring compliance with ABS rules and applicable maritime regulations. You will conduct surveys on vessels, platforms, and during construction, and report findings with precision.

The role requires reading engineering plans, maintaining survey files, and engaging with clients to resolve issues while ensuring safety and environmental standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Education in engineering or physical science (minimum two-year program).
  • Marine/nautical institution with seagoing experience and ship-officer certification.
  • Minimum three years as Surveyor I or five years in marine engineering/survey.
  • Appropriate certifications/licenses may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine surveys on classed vessels, platforms or other marine structures.
  • Prepare technically accurate and timely inspection reports.
  • Maintain survey files in an orderly and up-to-date manner.
  • Engage with clients to resolve problems within area of expertise.
