Job summary

The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is seeking a Surveyor II or above to perform surveys on vessels and marine structures, ensuring compliance with ABS rules and statutory requirements. You will prepare technical reports and engage with clients to resolve survey findings under supervision.

This intermediate role requires knowledge of ABS standards, engineering plans, and effective communication in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level or higher in engineering/physical science, or marine/nautical background.
• Certification or seagoing experience may be required.
• Ability to learn ABS rules, guides and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine surveys on classed vessels, platforms or marine structures.
• Prepare accurate, timely reports of inspections and surveys.
• Interact with clients to resolve issues within area of expertise.
• Maintain survey files in an organized, up-to-date manner.
• Apply related rules and processes under supervision of senior staff.
