Job summary

Exceptional Dental is seeking a Service Advisor to be the frontline contact for customers seeking marine repair, maintenance, or parts. You will coordinate with technicians, parts staff, and sales to write repair orders, schedule repairs, and provide updates on progress.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and a basic understanding of marine systems. You will assist with parts identification, ordering, invoicing, and warranty processing, while ensuring customer

Qualifications

• Prior experience in customer service, marine service, or parts sales is preferred.
• Familiarity with boats or marine equipment.
• Basic understanding of marine mechanics (e.g., engines, electrical systems) or willingness to learn.
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with computers, sales and inventory software. Lightspeed experience preferred.
• May require certifications such as manufacturer-specific training or boating industry credentials.
• Ability to lift moderate loads (parts/equipment) and work in a shop/dock environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers, answer inquiries about marine services, repairs, and parts availability.
• Assess customer needs by discussing vessel issues and recommending services or parts.
• Provide cost estimates for repairs, maintenance, or parts, and explain pricing and timelines.
• Keep customers informed about service orders and notify them when work is complete.
• Write repair orders and schedule service appointments for boat repairs, maintenance, or installations.
• Liaise between customers and marine technicians, relaying technical details and repair requirements.
• Prepare and quote work orders with descriptions and ensure delivery to the service team.
• Submit and process warranty claims with varied brands.
• Monitor progress and ensure services are completed on time and to satisfaction.
• Partner with Service Manager to ensure repairs are accurate and efficient.
• Assist customers in identifying and ordering correct parts.
• Check inventory, place orders with suppliers, and manage stock for common parts.
• Process parts sales, including invoicing and handling returns or warranties.
