Job summary

Semper Speed & Marine is seeking a motivated full-time Service Advisor to join our busy marina dealership in California. You will manage the daily service calendar, check in boats, and create detailed work orders communicating customer concerns to technicians.

Responsibilities include preparing estimates, obtaining approvals, tracking parts, and following up with customers by phone and email to ensure satisfaction. Prior boating experience is a plus; Saturdays required.

Qualifications

• Strong typing skills and the ability to type accurately while communicating with customers.
• Strong written communication, spelling, grammar, and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using computers and learning dealership/service software.
• Ability to clearly translate a customer's description of a problem into a detailed work order.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Must be available to work Saturdays.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Schedule service appointments and manage the daily service calendar.
• Check in boats and create detailed service work orders.
• Accurately and efficiently type customer complaints, concerns, and requested repairs into service work orders.
• Document customer conversations and repair information clearly and thoroughly so technicians have the information needed to diagnose and complete repairs.
• Coordinate with technicians regarding job status and repair timelines.
• Order parts needed for service repairs and track backordered items.
• Prepare estimates and obtain customer approvals.
• Assist customers with questions regarding maintenance, repairs, and warranty coverage.
• Submit warranty claims and insurance claims.
• Bill and collect payments for completed services.
• Communicate with customers regarding service updates by phone and email.
• Follow up with customers after service completion to ensure satisfaction.
• Work closely with the Parts and Sales Departments to support customer needs.
