Job summary

Orion Marine Contractors Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to provide engineering support, cost estimation, and procurement for marine construction projects.

You will interpret plans, schedule activities, and coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and foremen to drive on-time, within-budget project delivery. The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering/Construction Science and at least two years of related experience.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Science or related discipline and 2 years of work experience.
• Working knowledge of Project Management & Administration, Marine Construction, Materials Procurement, Estimating, Scheduling, Project Tracking Software, Cost Control, Engineering & Project Standards, and Safety & Environmental Compliance.
• Willingness to travel, ability to make business decisions, results-driven mindset, leadership by example, and high personal integrity.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Management Team to ensure successful project completion.
• Monitor costs and track materials, services, labor, and other project expenses.
• Develop bid packages for subcontractors and procure materials and services.
• Interpret project plans and specifications and schedule work to meet timelines.
• Interface with project team, suppliers, customers, and others involved in project work.
• Promote safe work practices and participate in safety/environmental initiatives.
