Job summary

Orion Marine Construction – Atlantic & Caribbean seeks an Assistant Project Manager to provide engineering management support for marine projects. You will develop bid packages, estimate costs, procure materials, and schedule work activities for ongoing or new projects.

You will interface with Customers and project personnel, ensuring profitability, safety, and on-time completion while aligning with company values of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Teamwork.

Qualifications

• A B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Science or related discipline is required.
• Minimum 4 years experience or equivalent work experience in marine construction or related fields is preferred.
• Working knowledge of project management, scheduling, cost control, procurement, estimating, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Project Management Team to ensure successful completion and profitability of projects.
• Provides management guidance and oversight to Superintendents and Foremen for marine construction projects.
• Assists in bid proposal development and ensures timely submission.
• Estimates costs for upcoming projects including materials, services, labor, and other costs.
• Procures materials and services from suppliers as required by project needs.
• Interprets project plans and specifications for customers, suppliers, or others involved.
• Schedules project work activities to ensure timely completion.
• Interfaces with project team members, suppliers, customers, and others involved in project work.
• Ensures a safe work environment and compliance with safety policies.
