We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide leadership and project management support for complex marine and heavy civil construction projects. This position is responsible for the successful planning, execution, financial performance, and closeout of assigned projects while supporting Orion's commitment to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Teamwork, and Integrity.
This position requires travel to project locations throughout the Gulf Coast region.
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide overall project leadership to ensure the successful execution and profitability of assigned marine construction projects.
- Partner with Superintendents, Foremen, Project Engineers, Estimators, and field leadership to safely deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Develop competitive bid proposals and estimates for marine construction and heavy civil projects.
- Prepare cost estimates including labor, equipment, subcontractors, materials, and specialty marine resources.
- Participate in contract negotiations, change order preparation, and client communications.
- Procure project materials, subcontractors, equipment, and services.
- Interpret project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts and production plans.
- Monitor project costs, productivity, earned value and financial performance.
- Coordinate with marine operations regarding barges, cranes, pile driving equipment, vessels, specialty subcontractors and logistics.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions.
- Support project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, cost reports and project closeout documentation.
- Mentor Project Engineers and support the professional development of field personnel.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Orion quality standards and contract requirements.
- Travel to project sites as required.

Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline required.
- Minimum of 8 years of Project Management experience within heavy civil, marine construction, transportation, industrial or infrastructure construction.
- Marine construction experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience managing self-perform construction projects is strongly preferred.

Physical & Mental Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
