Turn Your Passion for People, Sales, and the Water Into a Career!
At Lakeside Marina, we're not just selling boats. We're helping families spend more time together, introducing people to new adventures, and creating experiences and memories that last a lifetime.
We're looking for an outgoing, motivated, and relationship-driven Sales Product Specialist to join our growing team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
If you're someone who loves connecting with people, thrives in a team environment, enjoys a little friendly competition, and wants a career that's anything but ordinary, we'd love to meet you!
Why Lakeside Marina?
Let's face it. Not all sales careers are created equal.
In the marine industry, our customers aren't simply purchasing another product. They're investing in weekends on the water, summer vacations, family traditions, and time spent doing what they love.
From walking customers through their dream boat in our showroom to getting out on the water for demonstrations and celebrating the excitement of delivery day, every day brings opportunities to connect with people and share in their passion for boating.
At Lakeside Marina, we pride ourselves on maintaining a close-knit, family-like atmosphere where everyone plays an important role in our success. We're a team of passionate boating enthusiasts who work hard, support one another, celebrate our accomplishments, and genuinely enjoy what we do.
But don't mistake our fun atmosphere for a lack of focus. We're a motivated, goal-oriented team with high expectations for ourselves and the experience we deliver to every guest.
We believe you can work hard, be successful, and have a great time doing it!
What You'll Do
As a Sales Product Specialist, you'll be responsible for more than simply selling boats. You'll help guide customers through one of the most exciting purchases they'll make, creating a personalized and memorable experience from their initial inquiry through delivery and beyond.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Build Meaningful Relationships: Take a genuine interest in our guests, their families, interests, and boating goals. Develop lasting relationships built on trust, exceptional service, and a personalized experience.
- Deliver an Exceptional Guest Experience: Make every interaction memorable, whether it's a first-time visitor, an experienced boater looking to upgrade, or a longtime Lakeside Marina customer.
- Become a Product Expert: Develop extensive knowledge of our boat brands, models, features, and technology to confidently educate customers and help them find the perfect fit for their lifestyle.
- Create Opportunities: Proactively identify and develop new sales opportunities through customer outreach, referrals, prospecting, and relationships with existing customers. Don't simply wait for the next opportunity to walk through the door.
- Follow Our Proven Sales Process: Consistently execute our established sales processes, from initial contact and discovery through product presentations, demonstrations, follow-up, and closing.
- Own Your CRM: Diligently maintain and manage customer information, sales opportunities, follow-up activities, and detailed notes within our CRM. Stay organized, proactive, and accountable throughout the sales process.
- Stay Connected: Consistently follow up with prospective and existing customers, even when there isn't necessarily new information to share. Focus on building relationships, providing value, and staying top of mind.
- Bring the Experience to Life: Conduct engaging product presentations, on-water demonstrations, and customer deliveries that showcase the excitement and enjoyment of boat ownership.
- Contribute to Team Success: Collaborate with our sales, service, and marina teams to ensure every customer receives the exceptional experience Lakeside Marina is known for.
- Continuously Improve: Embrace coaching, training, constructive feedback, and opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.
Who We're Looking For
We're not necessarily looking for someone who has spent years selling boats. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, personality, work ethic, and desire to succeed.
The right person will be:
- Outgoing & Personable: You genuinely enjoy meeting new people, starting conversations, and making others feel comfortable and welcome.
- Motivated & Competitive: You're driven to achieve goals, take pride in your accomplishments, and continuously challenge yourself to improve.
- Relationship-Focused: You understand that successful sales are built on trust, listening, and genuinely caring about your customers, not high-pressure tactics.
- Coachable & Accountable: You're open to feedback, willing to learn, take ownership of your performance, and understand that following a proven process is essential to success.
- Self-Driven & Proactive: You don't need someone constantly telling you what to do next. You take initiative, recognize opportunities, and follow through.
- Organized & Detail-Oriented: You understand that consistent follow-up, accurate CRM management, and attention to the little things make a significant difference.
- A Team Player: You enjoy being part of a close-knit team, support those around you, and recognize that individual and team success go hand in hand.
- Positive & Enthusiastic: You bring energy, professionalism, and a great attitude to work, even when things get busy or challenging.
- Comfortable With Technology: You're willing and able to utilize CRM software, digital communication, video, and other technology to manage opportunities and connect with customers.
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous sales or customer service experience is preferred, but not required.
- Marine or boating experience is a plus, but we're happy to train someone who is eager to learn.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable communicating with customers in person, over the phone, through email, text messaging, and video.
- Ability and willingness to work six-day workweeks (Monday through Saturday) during our busy spring and summer selling season, along with additional hours for special events and boat shows as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal retail environment.
- Valid driver's license.
What Makes This Opportunity Different
An Industry You'll Love: Spend your days surrounded by boats, boating enthusiasts, and customers excited about getting out on the water.
More Than Just a Sale: Help people make memories, enjoy time with family and friends, and discover everything boating has to offer.
A Team That Feels Like Family: Join a close-knit group of people who genuinely care about one another, work together, and celebrate success.
Opportunities to Get on the Water: Gain hands‑on experience with our products through on‑water demonstrations, training, and customer experiences.
A Culture of Growth & Success: Receive hands‑on training, ongoing coaching, and the support of an experienced leadership team that's invested in helping you succeed.
A Career With Earning Potential: Build a rewarding career where your commitment, effort, and performance create opportunities for financial growth.
