Job summary

Meyer Distributing is seeking an Outside Sales Representative – Marine to grow our customer base and strengthen relationships in the field. You will visit prospects and key accounts, promote promotions and literature, and drive revenue in the assigned territory.

Starting compensation begins at $70,000 annually, based on experience, with a Monday–Friday schedule. The role includes comprehensive benefits and advancement opportunities within a growing family-owned company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license with no recent violations.
• Marine/automotive parts knowledge and sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent Meyer and its interests with the highest regard for customer satisfaction.
• Travel within assigned territory for daily face-to-face interaction with prospects and customers.
• Grow sales and market share within the territory; establish and maintain relationships with customers.
• Enter and maintain daily visit notes for all sales visits.
• Educate customers on how products can benefit them financially and professionally.
• Identify buying patterns and implement plans to increase sales or offer alternatives.

The Outside Sales Representative – Marine is responsible for all outside sales functions, including generating new business by calling on prospective customers, regularly visiting current and key accounts, and ensuring customers stay up to date on the latest promotions, products, and vendor literature.

Starting at $70,000.00 annually, based on experience

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Represents Meyer and its interests with the highest regard for customer satisfaction in a professional manner.
• Travel within assigned territory for daily face-to-face interaction with prospects and customers.
• Responsible for growth and development of sales and market share within assigned territory.
• Establish and maintain relationships with new and repeat customers.
• Enter/maintain daily visit notes for all sales visits.
• Educate customers on how products or services can benefit them financially and professionally.
• Identify customer buying patterns (top sellers) and implement plan to increase sales or offer alternatives as needed.
• Sell the company's products/services to customers through product knowledge, manufacturer literature, promotions, customer events, etc.
• Monitor the company's competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand specific customer needs.
• Responsible for company car, credit card, laptop, gas cards and any other company provided equipment.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, associate degree in business or related field preferred.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license with no recent moving or driving violations, remain insurable at the standard insurance market rate.
• Previous marine, automotive parts knowledge and sales experience preferred.
