Job summary

Core Group Resources is hiring experienced Welders for a marine repair shipyard in South Point, OH. You'll repair and fabricate steel on towboats and barges. It suits welders who are comfortable with structural hull work in an outdoor, production-paced setting.

This role requires ability to weld in all positions and pass pre-employment screening, with experience in shipyards or heavy structural environments. AWS certification preferred and fitting experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience welding in shipyards, marine repair, or heavy structural setting.
• Able to weld in all positions.
• Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Able to pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Weld steel plate and structural members on barge and towboat hulls, decks, and internals.
• Perform SMAW, FCAW, and carbon arc gouging in all positions.
• Prepare joints by cutting, grinding, and gouging out damaged steel.
• Work from repair specifications and direction from foremen and fitters.
• Inspect your own welds for quality and correct defects.
• Follow yard safety, hot-work, and confined-space procedures.
