Responsibilities

• Lay out and weld structural steel plates, stiffeners, bulkheads, and vessel elements.
• Interpret blueprints and welding symbols to plan weld sequences.
• Prepare joints and surfaces by grinding, cleaning, and removing damaged material.
• Execute welds per approved procedures and project requirements; maintain quality.
• Inspect welds, address discontinuities, and perform touch-ups as directed.
• Coordinate with structural fitters, supervisors, and other trades to hit milestones.
• Adhere to shipyard safety practices, hot-work protocols, and PPE expectations.
