Qualifications

• Proven marine repair experience on barges, towboats, or vessels.
• Ability to weld in all positions and fit to drawings.
• Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Willing to work assigned day or night shift; pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Cut, fit, and weld steel plate and structural members on barge and towboat hulls, decks, and internals.
• Read blueprints and repair specifications to lay out and fabricate replacement steel.
• Perform SMAW, FCAW, and carbon arc gouging in all positions.
• Use torches, grinders, and fit-up tools to remove damaged steel and prepare joints.
• Inspect your own welds for quality and correct defects.
• Follow yard safety, hot-work, and confined-space procedures.
