Job summary

Core Group Resources in Paducah, KY is seeking an experienced Dock Foreman to lead a crew of welder/fitters and dock staff at a marine repair yard. You will oversee repairs on towboats and barges, read blueprints, and ensure work is completed on time and to spec.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong welding and fitting skills, the ability to read repair drawings, and a track record of safely guiding a second-shift crew through complex hull and deck repairs.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing barges and towboats or vessels.
• Previous lead or foreman role in a shipyard or marine fabrication setting.
• Strong welding and fitting background.
• Able to read blueprints and repair specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assign work to welder/fitters and dock crew.
• Assess hull, deck, and structural damage on barges and towboats and plan repairs.
• Read drawings and repair specs and lay out steel replacement work.
• Check fit-up and weld quality and sign off on completed repairs.
• Enforce hot-work, confined-space, and general yard safety procedures.
