Job summary

Orion is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to provide on-site project support for marine and heavy civil infrastructure projects. The role collaborates with the Project Manager, Project Superintendent, and field crews to ensure accurate measurement, material installation, and project closeout.

The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering or related discipline, with interest in project management, procurement, estimating, scheduling, and safety/compliance.

Qualifications

• A B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Science or related discipline is required.
• Prior hands-on work experience in the marine construction industry as a Summer Intern or Co-op Engineer is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of Project Management, Administration, Marine Construction, Materials Procurement, Estimating, Scheduling, Project Tracking Software, Cost Control, Engineering & Project Standards, and Safety & Environmental Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Project Management Team to ensure successful project completion.
• Assist in bid proposal development for marine construction projects when assigned.
• Estimate costs for upcoming projects, including materials, services, labor, and related costs.
• Provide drafting, charging and basic graphical work as needed.
• Coordinate material procurement and verification with suppliers and the jobsite team.
• Interpret project plans and specifications and provide topographic surveys as required.
