Job summary

Orion is seeking an entry-level Field Engineer to support its marine and heavy civil construction operations in Federal Way, WA. The role involves on-site inspections, coordinating with the project team, and ensuring accurate measurement and material installation.

The position requires a B.S. degree in a related engineering field, willingness to travel, and a commitment to safety and quality. Remote work is not available and projects span the Pacific Northwest.

Qualifications

Bachelor-level engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
Experience with field engineering support and on-site installations preferred.
Familiarity with surveying methods and measurement techniques beneficial.
Understanding of project management and safety compliance required.

Responsibilities

Support project management and field crews to complete projects on time and within budget.
Assist in bid proposals for marine construction and services.
Estimate costs for materials, services, labor, and other project expenses.
Perform drafting, charting, and basic graphical work.
Coordinate material procurement and ensure proper quantities and quality.
Provide survey data, topographic and cross-section information as needed.
Interpret plans and specifications for on-site execution.
Travel to active Pacific Northwest projects as required.
