Job summary

Hornblower Group, a global leader in experience and transportation, seeks a Maintenance Engineer to oversee electrical propulsion and energy storage systems aboard vessels. You will provide ground-level support, training, and PM development to keep ESS and power generation systems safe, reliable, and compliant.

The role entails commissioning, testing, and leading repairs including ESS modules, high-powered DC fast chargers, fuel cell work, and hybrid control systems.

Qualifications

• 4 years of specialized industry experience may be substituted at management’s discretion.
• Functional understanding of electricity and the relevant safe industry practices for working around it.
• HAZWOPER certificate (40 hours)
• Forklift Certification
• CPR & First Aid Certification
• Advanced circuitry including oscilloscope, soldering iron and other low level hardware repairs.
• Cloud computing literacy with MS Forms, Flow, Excel, and Adobe.

Responsibilities

• Project management and team leadership for vessel engineering projects.
• Safety management and accurate reporting on projects and problems.
• Mentor crewmembers and ensure issues are resolved quickly and smoothly.
• Troubleshooting, servicing and maintaining: Lithium ESS arrays, DC fast charging systems, PLCs (OPTO, CANBUS, MODBUS).
• Maintain records of all work and perform general building maintenance as needed.
• Ensure engineering operations meet audits and contractual requirements.
• Maintain tools and workspace, and advance power generation and propulsion systems onboard vessels and Island operations.
