Job summary

Hornblower Corp. is seeking a skilled Marine Mechanic to lead maintenance and repair on project vessels. You will oversee preventative maintenance, manage spares and inventories, and document machinery history while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will develop engineering management systems, train personnel, and collaborate with vendors and clients to maintain high standards of performance and cost efficiency on the fleet.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or higher required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • USCG license endorsed as C/E Unlimited Horsepower is required.
  • TWIC Card or ability to obtain.
  • First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • DD214 copy if veteran status.
  • At least 10 years in the passenger vessel industry with growing responsibility.
  • At least 3 years as Senior Engineer on large passenger vessels.
  • Experience managing major onboard systems and cost-control.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate maintenance and repair functions for project vessels.
  • Develop and promote engineering management systems at the project site.
  • Implement and manage Preventative Maintenance Program and work orders.
  • Maintain machinery history and documentation; oversee spares and inventories.
  • Supervise training and orientation of maintenance personnel and engineers.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and contractors; support budgets and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure safety compliance and conduct drills and safety reviews.
  • Provide guidance to shipboard engineers and assist with vessel overhaul planning.
