Job summary

Derecktor Shipyards is seeking a Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee marine repair, refit, and new-construction projects from planning through delivery. You will work with clients, internal departments, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure on-time completion within scope and budget.

This role requires strong leadership, scheduling, and budgeting skills, plus in-depth knowledge of USCG and Marine Classification Society rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years marine industry experience or 10+ years with HS diploma.
• Strong knowledge of USCG and Marine Classification Society rules.
• Experience managing refit and new-construction projects.
• Excellent leadership and client-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage refit and new-construction projects from planning through delivery and closeout.
• Define scope, budgets, schedules, milestones, and deliverables with stakeholders.
• Review plans, contracts, and change orders to ensure requirements.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules for progress updates.
• Coordinate resources with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to meet schedule and budget.
• Monitor performance, budgets, risks, and progress; implement corrective actions.
• Report progress and financial information to management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, quality standards, and regulations.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and closeout records.
