Job summary

PBSGC is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Foreman to lead marine construction projects in Louisiana and surrounding states. You will manage crews and equipment on inland waterways, ensuring safety and efficiency and coordinating with project teams.

The role requires hands-on leadership, willingness to travel for consecutive weeks, and the ability to operate in marine conditions. A strong background in surveying, site administration, and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with marine environments on inland waterways (Mississippi River) beneficial but not required.
• Minimum 3 years' topographical or hydrographical surveying experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Knowledge of operating equipment: Backhoe, Track Hoe, Grader, Dozer, Loader.
• Proficient in setting, transferring and understanding grades.
• Commitment to safe leadership and safe work practices.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents, contracts, specifications, soil reports or government regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem solving, initiative, and teamwork.
• High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver's license.
• Must work in marine conditions including inclement weather.
• Willingness to travel as job location requires, including consecutive weeks away.
• Complete onboarding physical and exertion function test with a therapist after offer.
• Comfortable working over water and willing to participate in water rescue.

Responsibilities

• Manage safety and efficiency of marine construction projects and assets.
• Mobilize crew, equipment, and products on assigned projects.
• Interface with project personnel, contractors, inspectors, and the public.
• Order materials and schedule inspections.
• Promote site safety and rectify hazards.
• Handle on-site paperwork and daily reports.
• Be onsite full-time.
• Participate in weekly safety meetings.
• Perform additional tasks as required.
