Job summary

Safe Harbor Marinas in Belfast, ME seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead daily operations and support the General Manager in all facets of running the marina.

The role requires hands-on leadership with extensive marina or shipyard experience, strong relationships with a large workforce, and a focus on safety, customer service, and financial performance. A Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 5–7 years’ relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations and management of the business in the absence of the General Manager.
• Manage maintenance work to ensure safe and acceptable property and equipment, and esthetics appearance.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, reduce costs, improve turnaround times, and support business growth.
• Collaborate with department leaders to prioritize operational initiatives and ensure resources are deployed to meet goals.
• Identify and develop new revenue-generating opportunities including service offerings, storage solutions, project work, and customer programs.
• Support strategic planning through financial forecasting, operational analysis, and performance tracking.
• Oversee scheduling and coordination of major vessel projects, ensuring timelines, staffing, equipment, and customer expectations are met.
• Monitor project progress, profitability, and resource utilization to ensure successful delivery and financial performance.
• Manage sales, facilities, and guest relations effectively.
• Sustain and optimize profitability, performance and guest satisfaction.
• Assist with budgets, inventory control, and accounting principles of business.
• Maintain positive relationships with tenants, contractors, and local authorities.
• Comply with OSHA, EPA, DEEP and Department of Labor rules and regulations.
• Provide leadership and direction across multiple departments to align with objectives.
• Leverage marina/boatyard/shipyard operations experience to optimize facility performance.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager.
