Job summary

Harbor Point Marinas in Stamford, CT is seeking an experienced Dock Master to oversee daily dock operations and enhance the guest experience at our waterfront marinas. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong boating knowledge, and a commitment to safety and service excellence.

The Dock Master will coordinate vessel arrivals/departures, supervise dockhands, and ensure a polished, hospitality-driven environment for boaters and guests year-round.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in marina operations or related waterfront environment.
• Strong knowledge of boating, docking procedures, and marina safety.
• Experience supervising dockhands or marina staff.
• Strong customer service skills with a hospitality mindset.
• Ability to work with boat owners, captains, guests, vendors, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dock operations to ensure safe, organized, and exceptional marina experience.
• Serve as primary contact for marina customers, boaters, guests, and visitors.
• Assist with vessel arrivals/departures, docking, line handling, and slip assignments.
• Coordinate daily slip activity and communicate docking instructions and marina procedures.
• Supervise, schedule, train, and direct dockhands and seasonal staff.
• Maintain professionalism and high standards of customer service across the dock team.
• Monitor docks, slips, utilities, equipment, and common areas for safety concerns.
• Keep docks and marina areas clean, organized, and guest-ready.
• Enforce marina rules and safety procedures in a professional manner.
• Monitor weather and waterfront conditions and communicate operational concerns.
