Job summary

Silgan Plastics in Ohio is hiring a production operator to support our manufacturing lines. You will promote a safe environment, monitor resin and colorant usage, and ensure accurate mixing according to PIC sheets.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and strong attention to detail to prevent spills and defects. You will document scrap and maintenance tasks, assist with line changeovers, and communicate changes to the next shift.

Qualifications

• Must lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and move across production floor.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment.
• Verify resin and colorant batches against PIC sheets.
• Complete daily Scrap report detailing resin, colorant usage, regrind and scrap.
• Set up blenders, calibrate material formulas.
• Move materials between production lines and warehouse.
• Maintain clean work areas and proper signage.
• Communicate production changes to on-coming shift.
• Unload railcar following safety procedures.
