Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a Utility Technician-D to support production lines in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on safe operation, material handling, colorant management and line clearances on site.

Responsibilities include maintaining scrap and material usage records, calibrating blenders and ensuring no resin spills, with clear communication to the incoming shift. A high school diploma or GED is required and mechanical aptitude is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
• Fast-paced environment with attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment and follow Silgan safety policies.
• Verify resins and colorants on each production line per PIC sheet and document on OEE form.
• Complete daily scrap reports detailing resin, colorant usage, regrind and scrap generation.
• Ensure regrind is used on all lines and maintain proper levels.
• Set up blenders, calibrate and change material formulas as necessary.
• Evaluate colorant usage and perform visual color checks on bottles.
• Transport materials to and from the warehouse and operate railcar unloading system.
• Perform line clearances on completed lines and keep material systems clean.
• Communicate production changes to on-coming shift.
