Job summary

Silgan Plastics Corporation in Indiana is seeking a production operator to promote a safe working environment and produce finished goods that meet our customers’ requirements, optimizing cycle times for efficient throughput.

You will assist maintenance, monitor process parameters, perform setup and changeovers, document shift notes, and support labeling, resin changes, color, and other production tasks as directed by supervision.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment
• Produce finished goods that meet customer requirements and optimize cycle times for throughput
• Repair and provide information to maintenance to verify production parameters and document parameters (gram weight, S-1 dimensions, wall distribution, leak detection, drop testing)
• Provide information for shift notes, problems encountered, corrective actions taken, machine setting readings on forms
• Maintain best cycle, blow, exhaust and dry cycle times while sustaining throughput of regrind material
• Delegate duties for production change-overs related to labels, sleeves, weights, color, resin, and box on all blow molding equipment and production support equipment
• Acquire skills to operate, troubleshoot, repair and maintain Silgan Plastics manufacturing equipment
• Provide labor for mold clean up, setup and minor preventative maintenance as directed by Supervisor
• Other duties as assigned
