Job summary

Silgan Plastics is seeking a production associate to promote a safe working environment and adhere to all safety policies and procedures on the line. You will monitor resin and colorant usage, document on the Production OEE form, and ensure proper material handling from the warehouse to the line.

Responsibilities include setting up blenders, adjusting formulas, performing line clearances, managing scrap and regrind, and maintaining clean work areas around grinders and day bins.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform frequent climbing, stooping, bending, and carrying.
• Mechanical aptitude and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment.
• Adhere to Silgan safety policies and procedures.
• Verify daily that resins and colorants on each line match PIC sheets and document on Production OEE form.
• Complete daily Scrap report detailing resin, colorant usage, regrind and scrap generation.
• Set up blenders and calibrate/change material formulas as necessary.
• Perform line clearances and clean material systems.
• Transport material to/from the warehouse and scan regrind/colorants.
• Keep grinders/day bins clean and free of dust and regrind.
• Communicate changes in regrind percentages to on-coming shift.
