Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to design, build, and sustain critical test infrastructure for high‑reliability hardware used in defense applications.

You will own test lifecycle, develop PLC-controlled stations, and create simulation environments to enable regression testing without hardware. Candidates should have strong Python, Linux, and embedded comms experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of manufacturing test engineering or equivalent hardware test role.
• Hands-on experience designing physical test infrastructure, including test racks, power distribution, DAQs, and lab instrumentation.
• Proficiency writing automated test scripts and hardware control software in Python within a Linux/Unix environment.

Responsibilities

• Own manufacturing test infrastructure across the production lifecycle.
• Develop PLC-integrated station control software — Modbus TCP — and maintain PLC tag databases.
• Build hardware-free simulation environments (containerized station images, virtual CAN replay, device simulators).
• Gather requirements, author test plans, and define parametric acceptance criteria with Reliability and Product Quality teams.
• Design, build, and integrate complete test stations and fixtures.
• Develop automated test software in Python on Linux/Unix to orchestrate test sequences.
• Interface test equipment with devices under test (DUTs) using UART, CAN, RS-485/RS-232.
• Adhere to AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards; perform RCCA when needed.
