Job summary

Anduril Industries, Inc. is seeking a Software Manufacturing Test Engineer for Missiles in Costa Mesa, CA. You will build, scale, and maintain production software driving hardware test systems, bridging low-level control with test automation in Python and C# on Linux/Unix.

You’ll derive test requirements from hardware specs, deploy full software suites to factory racks, and collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to enhance coverage and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in software manufacturing test engineering or similar hardware test automation.
• Strong Python production code skills for test automation and data handling.
• C#/.NET experience for test applications and operator UIs.
• Strong Linux/Unix knowledge and shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with UART, CAN, and RS-485/RS-232 for DUT control.
• Experience with MES integration and database backends.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across hardware, software, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Own software manufacturing test activities in production to ensure uptime and throughput.
• Develop PLC-integrated station control software using Modbus TCP.
• Build hardware-free simulation environments for regression testing.
• Develop test suites in Python and C# for hardware control and UI work.
• Integrate test apps with sensors, DAQs, power supplies, and vehicle compute hardware.
• Troubleshoot hardware-software integration issues on the line.
• Deploy software on Linux/Unix platforms via SSH and CLI tools.
• Use Nix/NixOS to manage reproducible test environments.
• Assist with NPIs by defining software test requirements and pass/fail limits.
• Automate test execution across PCBA and full-system ESS checkouts.
• Log data and integrate with MES/DB for traceability.
• Create operator interfaces and troubleshooting logs for technicians.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce cycle times and increase coverage.
