Job summary

Lyft in Montréal is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to design, build, and own the test systems that ensure bikes and scooters meet safety and quality standards. You’ll lead hardware and software test fixtures, bring-up firmware, and support production on the factory floor.

You will collaborate with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and program teams, traveling as needed to ensure designs are built and tested correctly.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Python, C/C++, OpenHTF, or TypeScript for test automation.
• Familiar with hardware test equipment and lab tools.
• Test fixture and station design and build.
• Hands-on prototype bring-up and debugging.
• Experience with embedded systems and CAN/USB/SPI/I2C/UART.
• Willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own software, electrical, and hardware test fixtures used in production.
• Define vision, strategy, and architecture for current and future manufacturing test systems.
• Write scripts and programs for automated tests and data capture.
• Implement features to support hardware testing across product lines.
• Own the in-house test platform (OpenHTF-based Python runtime).
• Maintain the TypeScript/Electron/React operator application communicating with the Python test agent.
• Manage CI, installers, semver releases, and S3-based auto-update pipeline.
