Job summary

Comrise is seeking a Test Engineering Technician in Foster City, California. Job description

Company is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Test Engineering Technician to set up, execute, and debug tests on sensor and compute hardware.

In this role, you’ll support the development and deployment of test solutions for manufacturing, ensuring high performance and reliability of hardware systems. You’ll work in a collaborative environment, executing test plans with precision and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

The ideal candidate is a motivated, hands‑on technician with experience building test stations that integrate electrical and mechanical subsystems, and a strong desire to learn and grow.

As a Test Engineering Technician, you'll:
  • Develop, build, validate, troubleshoot, and support automated test stations in both lab and high-volume production environments.
  • Create and review test and process documentation, contributing to ongoing refinement and improvements.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure products are designed for optimal manufacturability and testability.
  • Follow engineering drawings, written procedures, and verbal instructions to complete work assignments accurately.
  • Support testing activities across multiple sites, with occasional travel as needed.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Linux Automotive ECU test experience
Daily tasks

As a part of our Test & Diagnostic Engineering team, our test technicians setup, execute, and debug tests on our sensors and compute hardware. Our team is responsible for providing test solutions for manufacturing and testing hardware to ensure high performance and high reliability. We are detail oriented to ensure our test plans are executed with high fidelity. We are collaborative and work together to tackle projects as a team. We are looking for motivated individuals who have experience building test stations with electrical & mechanical subsystems, aren’t afraid to challenge themselves and are eager to learn.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, build, validate, troubleshoot and support automated test stations in both lab and high-volume production environments.
  • Create and review test/process documentation and provide inputs for refinement and improvements.
  • Work closely with engineers to ensure that products under development are optimal manufacturability.
  • Follow drawings, written and verbal instructions to complete work assignments.
  • Travel between work sites may be required.
Qualifications
  • AA or higher in electrical/electronics/mechanical technology with 3 years of industry-related experience.
  • Proven ability to build industrial-grade test systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and/or engineering drawings.
  • Experience with assembling and repairing wiring harnesses.
  • Familiarity with standard electrical engineering lab equipment (e.g., Digital Multimeters, Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
