Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Roy, UT, seeks a Manufacturing Systems Engineering Manager 3 to lead cross-functional manufacturing systems strategy for Sentinel Launch Infrastructure. You will own the Manufacturing Management System, drive DFMA and producibility, and oversee readiness assessments to ensure a mature production system.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, extensive experience in manufacturing engineering and systems integration, and the ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline required; Master’s preferred for advanced roles.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing systems, production operations, industrial engineering, systems engineering, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and systems thinking skills; ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Production Operations lead at the IPT level for Sentinel Launch Infrastructure OU in Roy, UT.
• Define and mature the integrated manufacturing system for Sentinel during EMD and drive system validation across processes, tooling, data, and workflows.
• Develop and maintain cross functional manufacturing plans including requirements development, technical planning, and risk assessment.
• Drive compliance with the Corporate Manufacturing Management System and SAE AS6500, including documentation and reviews.
• Own Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRA) and Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL) for Sentinel parts and products.
• Lead DFMA and producibility analysis across disciplines and suppliers to improve cost, schedule, and quality.
• Manage budgets, resource planning, schedules, and performance standards for production operations scope.
• Apply systems thinking to Samba Sentinel manufacturing; develop system-level solutions rather than isolated fixes.
• Lead cross functional teams to design, develop, and implement complex manufacturing systems for Sentinel.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions based on data.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, span time, and improve quality.
