Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Production Systems Engineer for a well-established manufacturing company in Welkom, Free State. You will analyze production lines, design new systems, and drive improvements to efficiency, safety, and quality on-site.
The role involves leading time and motion studies, capacity planning, SOPs, and cross-functional collaboration with maintenance and QA. A 4+ year background in production or industrial engineering and strong Lean skills are required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IE or related field.
- Minimum 4 years in production or industrial engineering.
- Strong Lean manufacturing knowledge and application.
- Experience with data analysis, process mapping, and problem solving.
- MES/ERP experience is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing lines to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
- Design and implement new production systems and layouts.
- Apply Lean tools to drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct time and motion studies and capacity planning.
- Develop SOPs and work instructions for processes.
- Collaborate with maintenance on reliability and PM strategies.
- Monitor KPIs and report findings with recommendations.
- Support new products and processes in production.
- Train staff on new systems and improvements.
