Placements24 in Randburg, Gauteng is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements, enhance production efficiency, and uphold quality across manufacturing operations. The role blends on-site floor work with occasional hybrid tasks in analysis, reporting, and collaboration.

You will analyze existing methods, identify bottlenecks, design new processes and equipment, apply lean tools, develop SOPs, and lead NPI and upgrades while ensuring safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering with process optimization.
• Experience applying lean tools (Kaizen, 5S, VSM).
• Strong CAD and simulation familiarity.
• Ability to work on the production floor.
• Excellent communication and project management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify efficiency, cost, and quality improvements.
• Design, develop, and implement new processes and equipment.
• Apply lean manufacturing tools to optimize workflows (Kaizen, 5S, VSM).
• Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Collaborate with production, R&D, and QC to troubleshoot issues.
• Lead projects related to new product introductions and process upgrades.
• Specify and procure new equipment and tooling.
• Ensure processes comply with safety and enviro standards.
• Collect and analyze production data to monitor performance and trends.
• Train staff on new processes and equipment.
