Job summary

CREO Group in Sardis, MS is seeking a Safety Specialist to lead Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across manufacturing and distribution facilities. The role focuses on reducing risk, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a proactive safety culture.

The position is salaried and exempt, reports to the Safety Director, requires five or more years of EHS experience, strong OSHA knowledge, RCA skills, and excellent communication; travel is 30–50% with on-site work.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of Environmental, Health, and Safety experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
• Experience leading incident investigations and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Experience performing safety audits, inspections, and workplace risk assessments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to influence others and build collaborative relationships across all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture across all company facilities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, programs, and best practices that reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Analyze safety performance metrics, including OSHA recordable incidents and near misses, to identify trends and improvements.
• Lead workplace incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Coordinate safety incident response activities, including documentation and record retention.
• Develop and deliver safety orientation, training programs, and toolbox talks.
• Prepare detailed reports related to inspections, investigations, safety performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain current knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable laws.
