Job summary

LM Manufacturing in Detroit seeks a Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist to plan, develop and enhance HSE functions within the division. You will lead by example and drive the 5 C’s—Care, Commit, Connect, Communicate, Celebrate—while ensuring compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA and internal policies.

You will develop and maintain HSE policies, conduct ergonomic assessments, respond to incidents, and coordinate safety committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
• Minimum of two years safety, ergonomic and environmental experience in a manufacturing environment.
• OSHA 10 certificate preferred.
• OSHA 30 certificate a plus.
• Minimum bi-lingual (English required).
• Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and maintains health, safety, ergonomic and environmental programs and databases.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, EGLE and related laws.
• Leads safety and ergonomic improvements via audits, ergonomics programs and safety committees.
• Chairs safety and ergonomic committee meetings and resolves issues.
• Coordinates ergonomic assessments and reports injuries, near misses and property damage.
• Administers first aid and performs first responder duties during emergencies.
• Ensures adherence to Magna Employee Charter and related policies.
• Oversees worker’s compensation processes and return-to-work initiatives.
