Job summary

JLG, an Oshkosh company, seeks a Safety Intern to support the Safety department while gaining exposure to multiple business areas. You will review programs, develop training curriculums, and assist with investigations.

The role blends office tasks with hands-on shop-floor activities, including ergonomic assessments and safety data reporting. Strong communication and independent work skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Safety and Occupational Health or related field.
• GPA 3.0 or above.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Familiarity with manufacturing and safety principles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct written program/procedure reviews and develop training curriculums.
• Assist with accident investigations and corrective actions.
• Develop and update safety and health training programs for various business units.
• Provide daily support to the safety department on safety projects.
• Assist and conduct internal compliance and injury reduction assessments.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide improvement recommendations.
• Quantify and present safety & health statistics to management.
• Support and manage the Safety Management System (SMS).
• All other duties and projects as assigned.
