Job summary

American Woodmark Corporation seeks an Environmental Health & Safety professional to support compliance and safety programs at the plant. You will assist with safety training, data entry, and regulatory documentation to maintain a safe working environment.

The role requires a BS degree in safety-related field or equivalent manufacturing experience, strong computer skills, and the ability to work independently on multiple initiatives under the EH&S Manager.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Engineering or related discipline; extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• 2–4 years’ manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong PC skills in a network environment; Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.
• Able to work independently to meet deadlines and reporting goals.

Responsibilities

• Update plant safety practices documents to maintain a safe working environment.
• File workers’ compensation claims and maintain file records.
• Accompany employees on initial visits, physician or drug screens as needed.
• Assist in safety and technical training as needed and directed.
• Work with EH&S Manager on projects and initiatives.
