Job summary

American Woodmark Corporation is seeking an HR Coordinator to assist in the coordination of Human Resources, Safety/Compliance, and Training/Development functions to optimize the use of all resources in meeting and exceeding plant goals.

You will support recruiting, employee relations, policy guidance, and training activities in a manufacturing environment, reporting to the Human Resources Manager. A Bachelor’s degree in HR is preferred, with a Spanish language plus being a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related discipline; PHR certification is a plus.
• Minimum 1-2 years HR management experience; manufacturing preferred.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Acts as primary point of contact for HR for hourly employees.
• Assists HR Manager in coordinating recruiting activities (salary and hourly).
• Provides counseling and resource assistance in policy, benefits, salary administration, training/development, performance issues.
• Monitors and coordinates local/state governmental and regulatory compliance activities.
• Maintains employee files and HR-related information for hourly employees, including attendance policies.
• Represents company in Unemployment Compensation Hearings as needed.
• Investigates employee complaints including harassment and discrimination.
