Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Company is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing team. You will inspect incoming materials, audit assembly in process, and evaluate finished goods to ensure quality and compliance with customer requirements.

Responsibilities include documentation review, supporting product release, and communicating quality issues to operations, project managers, customers, and auditors. The role requires safety and continuous improvement focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of quality systems or assembly experience.
• Ability to inspect materials and finished goods and follow detailed instructions.
• Proficiency in basic math (whole numbers, fractions, decimals).
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, manuals, work orders, specs and quality documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to prepare records and reports.
• Effective communication with employees, operations partners, project managers, customers, and auditors.
• Ability to meet onsite work schedule and work overtime as required.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials against specifications and release conforming materials for production use.
• Audit assembly lines and finished goods throughout production to verify compliance with work order specifications and customer requirements.
• Ensure adherence to GMPs, SOPs, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Review, approve, and release production documentation to support accurate and timely customer shipments.
• Record finished goods data for internal analysis and communicate documentation or quality issues to operations, project managers, customers, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Support internal quality audits, customer audits, regulatory agency audits, and GMP training when requested.
• Communicate company policies, procedures, and customer requirements to employees and assist with related processes and training.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area, support continuous improvement, and perform other duties as assigned.
