Job summary

Rehlko is seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer to drive safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost reductions across manufacturing operations in Sheboygan, WI. The role focuses on reducing waste (Mura/Muda/Muri), mentoring technicians, and collaborating with design engineering to ensure smooth transitions from design to production.

The position requires a BSc in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering with 2+ years of experience and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience (Co-Op, Internship, or related experience)
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification and/or proven experience in continuous improvement/quality systems preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Experience drawing conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations; suggest design/process corrections
• Ability to manage multiple projects of moderate scope and complexity simultaneously
• Be innovative, resourceful, and work with minimal direction
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and bend; PPE as required and 50% floor/50% office balance

Responsibilities

• Drive production performance by ensuring efficient operations, meeting output goals, and maintaining high quality standards.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., DMAIC, PDCA, A3).
• Partner with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and support new product launches.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, routings, and material flow to maximize throughput.
• Manage capital and process improvement projects, leading cross-functional teams to successful execution.
• Support root cause analysis and resolution of production and field quality issues, including PFMEA development and maintenance.
• Implement Poke Yokes to reduce assembly errors.
