This role provides foundational support across the shop, attends daily production meetings, records action items, and assists with status updates to customers and vendors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Associate Degree; BA/BS preferred but no PM experience required.
• Strong reading and interpretation of mechanical drawings and GD&T is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Familiarity with CNC machining and metal casting terminology.

Responsibilities

• ERP Status & Tracking: Update data, track timelines, and update job status in the ERP system under guidance.
• Job Folder & Document Flow: Route ECOs, coordinate data packages, and manage workflow between engineering and production.
• Meeting Support: Attend daily production meetings, kick-offs, and weekly WIP reviews; record actions.
• Customer & Vendor Communication: Help senior staff send status updates to customers and vendors.
• Project Scope Documentation: Document updates, changes, and scope revisions with seniors.
• Project Tracking: Track milestones from raw casting to CNC machining and final inspection.
• Timekeeping & Compliance: Record hours daily and submit overtime with pre-approval.
• Travel: Occasional travel for customer/vendor visits (~10%).

Griffin Industries is seeking an energetic, entry-level Project Coordinator to support our operations. Griffin Industries specializes in full-service prototype and low-lot machined casting solutions.

The Junior Project Manager tracks job timelines, updates ERP status, and coordinates job-folder workflow between engineering and production teams. This role acts as a foundational support within our operations, ensuring project continuity from foundry tool design through final machined castings.

Key Responsibilities

• ERP Status & Tracking: Assist in entering data, updating job status, and tracking project timelines within the company ERP system under team guidance.
• Job Folder & Document Flow: Review engineering change orders (ECOs), route technical data packages, and coordinate job-folder workflow between engineering, CNC machining, and pattern/foundry production teams.
• Meeting Support: Attend daily production meetings, job kick-off meetings, and weekly WIP (Work-In-Progress) reviews to take notes and record action items.
• Customer & Vendor Communication: Assist senior managers with sending status updates to customers and following up with vendors on order status.
• Project Scope Documentation: Learn to document job updates, customer changes, and scope revisions alongside senior team members.
• Project Tracking: Track component manufacturing milestones, from raw metal casting through CNC machining, secondary operations, and final inspection.
• Timekeeping & Compliance: Accurately record all working hours daily in the timekeeping system; submit overtime requests for manager pre-approval.
• Travel: Travel occasionally as needed for customer or vendor visits (approximately 10% under senior supervision).

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Education & Background: High School Diploma or Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or Industrial Tech is a plus (no prior PM experience required).
• Technical Skills:
• Fundamental computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, engineering drawings, and basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiarity with CNC machining operations, metal casting processes, and standard shop floor terminology.
• Key Attributes:
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn manufacturing processes in a fast-paced environment.
