Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Manufacturing Process Planner in Holland, MI to optimize shop scheduling, balance capacity, and support custom automation projects.

You will review BOMs, drawings, and specs, develop routing strategies, and coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure on-time delivery. Strong reading of GD&T and experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing are desirable, with professional certifications a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering Technology, Business, or related field.
• Experience with production planning and capacity management in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
• APICS, APA, or related planning/scheduling certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review BOMs, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure completeness and manufacturability.
• Partner with Supply Chain to evaluate make-versus-buy decisions and support sourcing strategies.
• Develop manufacturing plans, routing strategies, and scheduling priorities to maximize efficiency.
• Determine material requirements and stock sizes to support fabrication and machining operations.
• Monitor machine and fabrication shop capacity and provide short- and long-term planning recommendations.
• Schedule work based on machine capabilities, workforce skills, and production priorities.
• Coordinate resources to support planned production and urgent customer requirements.
• Provide visibility into manufacturing constraints, delivery status, and production performance.
