Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is seeking a Supply Chain Manager to direct procurement for an industrial automation OEM in Auburn Hills, MI. You will oversee direct materials, manage AVLs, and partner with Engineering on NPI and component standardization, ensuring supply continuity and cost control.

The role emphasizes leading a team, collaborating across functions, and driving continuous improvement in procurement processes while supporting budgeting and project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 7–10+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing OEM environment.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• Experience with BOM-based purchasing and ERP-driven environments.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Analytical, data-driven decision-making capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the purchasing team with clear expectations.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Finance, and Project Management.
• Support Sales and Program Management with sourcing requirements.
• Escalate and mitigate supply chain risks affecting delivery.
• Oversee procurement aligned with BOM structures and MRP signals.
• Ensure material availability to support production schedules and milestones.
• Drive expediting and de-risking of supply constraints.
