Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in a relevant engineering field with strong academic record
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred
• Interest in thermo-mechanical processing of metals
• Familiarity with Excel, Python, or Minitab/JMP for data analysis
• Knowledge of stress-strain behavior, microstructure-property relationships, and process modeling
• Ability to work in plant and shop-floor environments

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to improve manufacturing processes and quality
• Create visual standards for quality metrics on the shop floor and update operating requirements
• Develop measurement tools to check VAR furnace tilt and alignment to prevent furnace damage
• Identify process improvement opportunities during ESR startup to enhance consistency and performance
• Analyze process data to detect trends, improvement opportunities, and variation sources
• Develop or improve standard operating procedures to support consistent manufacturing execution
• Collaborate with teams to investigate process issues and develop practical solutions
