Qualifications

• BS or higher in Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering.
• Preferred GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Strong interest in thermo-mechanical processing of metals.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools (Excel, Python, Minitab, JMP).
• Ability to work in plant and shop-floor environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes and quality consistency.
• Create visual standards for quality metrics on the shop floor and update operating requirements.
• Develop measurement tools to check VAR furnace tilt and alignment to prevent furnace damage.
• Identify process improvement opportunities during ESR startup to enhance consistency and performance.
• Analyze process data to detect trends, improvement opportunities, and sources of variation.
• Develop or improve standard operating procedures to support consistent manufacturing execution.
• Collaborate with teams to investigate process issues and develop practical solutions.
