Job summary

Prysmian in Indiana is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to analyze and optimize extrusion and related processes. You will partner with production teams to implement methods and technologies, develop tooling setups, and lead readiness for new product launches.

You will drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma, deliver measurable gains in productivity and quality, and develop clear work instructions and SOPs for operators.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years in manufacturing; plastics or polymers environment preferred.
• Lean or Six Sigma experience.
• Background in New Product Introduction/Launch.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, cut waste, and elevate product quality.
• Partner with production teams to select and implement the best manufacturing methods and technologies.
• Develop and optimize process parameters, tooling, fixtures, and equipment set-ups for stable, repeatable output.
• Lead manufacturing readiness for new product launches, including process development, validation, and documentation.
• Benchmark industry best practices and introduce advanced manufacturing techniques where they add value.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute improvement projects from concept through implementation.
• Provide hands-on support for daily production issues—troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and process deviations.
• Deliver measurable gains in productivity, scrap reduction, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Build strong cross-functional relationships to align on production priorities and goals.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.
• Enable operator success by developing clear work instructions, SOPs, and process control methods.
