Job summary

Midland-Marvel Recruiters, LLC in Indiana seeks a Process Engineer to support day-to-day production operations in a plastics manufacturing environment. This role requires strong knowledge of polymer science and process engineering and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Plastics Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within plastics or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and technologies related to plastics.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, OSHA).
  • Willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of managing stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
  • Experience with plant operation, automation and robotics is a plus.
  • Familiarity with injection molding, extrusion, or blow molding processes.
  • Project management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day production operations of plastics plant.
  • Ensure safe operation of all production equipment in the assigned lines.
  • Enforce Plant and Section Safety Plans and rules.
  • Train all employees in safe and proper work procedures.
  • Verify correct formula, SOP, and packing materials for each order.
  • Perform quality checks and ensure SOC is used correctly.
  • Monitor all process phases closely for quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot lines to minimize downtime and quality issues.
  • Document process requirements and parameters for production readiness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet product specs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and production trials for new products.
  • Install, test, and commission new machinery and equipment.
  • On-call availability for issues after hours.
  • Maintain technical documentation and performance reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Coordinate with contractors on work bids.
  • Other duties as assigned by Production/Plant Manager.

Multi-billion dollar company has an exciting opportunity available in Indiana for a Process Engineer.

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Process Engineer will play a key role in the day-day production operations & support for the manufacturing of plastic products. This position requires a deep understanding of polymer science & process engineering principles, a strong background in plastic manufacturing, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support day-day production operations of plastics plant.
  • Responsible for the assigned lines’ safe operation of all production equipment.
  • Support and enforce all Plant and Section Safety Plans and rules.
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained in the safe and proper way to perform their assigned jobs.
  • Ensure the correct formula, SOP, and packing materials been use for each production order.
  • Perform quality checks of the production line and ensure correct SOC is used.
  • Ensure that all phases of the process are closely monitored accordingly.
  • Resolve process abnormal quickly and effectively to minimize negative impact on product quality.
  • Test customer return samples & perform plant investigation and implement corrective actions to avoid future occurrences.
  • Thoroughly document process requirements and parameters to assure equipment is capable of commercial production.
  • Troubleshoot production lines as issue arise to minimize machine downtime.
  • Optimize process to from design to product launch and continual improvement and achieve production output and yield target
  • Support the trial runs to for new product development , raw material evaluation, and current product modification etc. as needed
  • Maintain records and data for analysis of cost, productivity, yield and scrap usage and report to upper management daily.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Complete time studies to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and coordinate continuous improvement and production process refinement efforts.
  • Training operator to follow quality guideline in the operation, testing and recording the production quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and perform production trial runs and generate report of the outcome to support new product development or raw material evaluations.
  • Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Should be available for” On-call” as issues arise after work hours.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, SOCs, daily/monthly production performance reports, and process manuals.
  • Analyze product failure data in order to determine causes of problems and develop solutions.
  • Conduct engineering evaluation on performance of machinery used on manufacturing process.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
  • Assist to review, evaluate, and coordinate completion of work bid from contractors.
  • Other duties as assigned by Production/Plant Manager.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
  • Manufacturing Environment
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs and repetitive action of lifting and bending
  • Able to stand for up to 12hrs
  • Must wear steel toe shoes and appropriate PPE on production floor all times
  • No shorts, jewelry and loose hanging clothes allowed
