Job summary

Prysmian USA, a global leader in cable and connectivity systems, seeks a Mechanical Engineer focused on manufacturing process improvement. You will analyze processes to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality, collaborating with production teams to implement best methods and technologies.

You will lead readiness for new product launches, develop robust process controls, and drive cost reductions using Lean and Six Sigma. Strong cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 years in manufacturing; plastics or polymers environment preferred.
• Lean or Six Sigma experience.
• Background in New Product Introduction/Launch.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, cut waste, and elevate product quality.
• Partner with production teams to select and implement the best manufacturing methods and technologies.
• Develop and optimize process parameters, tooling, fixtures, and equipment set-ups for stable, repeatable output.
• Lead manufacturing readiness for new product launches, including process development, validation, and documentation.
• Benchmark industry best practices and introduce advanced manufacturing techniques where they add value.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute improvement projects from concept through implementation.
• Provide hands-on support for daily production issues---troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and process deviations.
• Deliver measurable gains in productivity, scrap reduction, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
• Build strong cross-functional relationships to align on production priorities and goals.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.
• Enable operator success by developing clear work instructions, SOPs, and process control methods.
