Job summary

Clarios in Oconee, SC is seeking a Preventative Maintenance (PM) Technician for Power Frame. You will perform hands-on mechanical and electrical repairs, maintenance, reprogramming, and installation on production equipment in a leaded manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include completing PM tasks, diagnosing issues, coordinating with shift staff, and performing preventive checks to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have at least 4 years previous experience with machine maintenance and repair in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of machine shop tools including micrometer, veneer calipers, dial and depth indicator micrometers, and hand tools.
• Must have a learner mentality – willing to increase scope and knowledge of the position.
• Strong team player.
• Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing, leaded environment requiring PPE to include respirators.

Responsibilities

• Complete PM activities in the online work order management system.
• Diagnose problems, repair, adjust and maintain production equipment and machinery to ensure reliability and efficient day-to-day operations.
• Work with shift supervisors, lead operators and machine operators to test and inspect grid regularly, and identify issues affecting quality and production.
• Make periodic checks of machines and equipment and perform preventive maintenance to avoid unexpected downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair general mechanical and electrical components and equipment.
• Collaborate with external vendors in the repair and servicing of production equipment.
• Work well under pressure to repair equipment quickly.
• Read and understand electrical, equipment manuals, pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Work with High Performance teams for continuous improvements
• Keep work areas clean and orderly following 5S procedures
• Strictly adhere to all plant safety rules
• Take active part in group meetings to maintain safety, quality, and increase productivity and morale
• Respond to afterhours maintenance calls and come in as needed on an “on call” basis
