Opti Staffing Group in SW PDX is seeking a Planning Manager to lead production planning, oversee Schedulers, Production Expeditors, Order Entry Clerks, and Document Control, and translate demand, capacity, and inventory data into an actionable production plan.

This true leadership role requires hands-on manufacturing planning and managerial experience, with a minimum of five years in planning, to align departments, break down silos, and drive continuous improvement in a low-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of hands-on planning experience in manufacturing.
• Proven managerial experience leading a planning/scheduling team.
• Ability to translate demand, capacity and inventory into a production plan.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily workflow of Schedulers, Production Expeditors, Order Entry Clerks, and Document Control.
• Ensure plans align with demand forecasts, inventory, material, and capacity.
• Lead a cohesive Planning team with clear goals and accountability.
• Provide direction, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Lead daily Planning huddles to review forecasts and resolve issues.
• Develop rolling demand forecasts to guide purchasing and production.
• Create 2–3 week look-ahead forecasts to identify labor/capacity gaps.
• Review open orders and coordinate with Purchasing on timing.
• Monitor projects to improve WIP control and prevent overproduction.
• Develop, maintain and analyze department performance metrics and budgets.
