Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking an Associate in Operations & Manufacturing to lead large, complex engagements within the PEPI practice. You will work with private equity leadership to identify, design, and implement transformative solutions across portfolio companies, spanning manufacturing, supply chain, and plant optimization.

The role emphasizes lean improvements, capacity planning, and change management, with a salary range of $90,000–$130,000 per year and a discretionary bonus program.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of professional experience, with a minimum of 3 years specializing in manufacturing and/or distribution functions.
• Deep functional expertise in at least one of the following: supply chain or manufacturing operations, lean, Six Sigma, CapEx planning, Manufacturing 4.0/IIoT, or value engineering.
• Excellent fact‑gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis.
• Experience designing and leading the execution of change/communications strategies.
• Previous strategy and change management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Understand target’s manufacturing and distribution operations—organization design, capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing, and team capability.
• Evaluate production facilities’ maintainability and operability.
• Review data to assess efficiency & capacity, equipment conditions, maintenance logs, spare parts, and production numbers.
• Provide shop-floor insights by engaging with employees and customers and reviewing data.
• Identify cost improvement opportunities through lean, outsourcing, or consolidation of facilities.
• Develop transformation plans and identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Oversee deliverables quality and manage the team and day‑to‑day relationships to ensure performance.
